Pazuzu 08-02-2005, 06:01 PM Should have been 4.30s. But if you had actually searched, instead of claiming that you searched, then you would have learned that you cannot guess what is in your diffs, you HAVE TO CHECK. Either hope they have painted pinions and look at them, or actually start spinning tires and check the ratio.
Go here and start reading:

brettlebo 08-02-2005, 06:45 PM thanks KLF.
PAZ, I searched for 3.0 axle ratios, 5speed swap, V6 driveline and a number of other common and whacky combinations..
Thanks guys
Cheers
yotacowboy 08-02-2005, 10:04 PM you might try reading that thread AT THE TOP OF THE FIRST FUCKING PAGE THAT SAYS "FAQ *MUST READ*..."
seriously, your axle codes are on the vehicle, stamped into the vin tag. Axle codes=stock gearing.
wtf is up with all these newb-tastic threads lately?
Pazuzu 08-02-2005, 10:37 PM seriously, your axle codes are on the vehicle, stamped into the vin tag. Axle codes=stock gearing.
Except that you cannot trust that, they can be wrong. There was a thread just 2 days ago where I explained that.
You cannot tell what is in your diff until you check...either look at the paint on the pinion threads, or manually check by turning the wheels.
StarWolf 08-02-2005, 11:21 PM I havent read your previouse thred BUT if your toyota has STOCK axels then the vin plate is going to be correct, if you check the link above it will tell you what you have, ALSO in the event that you dont have what the vin says there are detailed descriptions and even Picutres! to help you out.
And cowboy, was ther vulger freakout session nessisary? i mean common Anoyance isnt a good call for rage is it :P
No hard feelings guys, were all building yotas here.
yotacowboy 08-03-2005, 06:56 AM kids, that wasn't rage, i was merely trying to get people to fead the FAQ and search... this question has been covered before!

No, that is my point. The VIN plate does not always tell you what the factory put in your truck. Period. You MUST actually check the gears yourself. I explained that before, and I'll explain it again. The VIN plate was installed by one guy, the gears by another guy, and they do not always do the same thing.
brettlebo 08-04-2005, 10:15 AM Yotacowboy,
Thanks for the re-update, I have not read the FAQ post in a while, and now that i have again I remember the gearing being on there before.
