Well, just got back from the Dysfunctional Taco feed. Wow, what a great club with great efforts! We had a nice time meeting you all and want to say, THANK YOU FOR YOUR EFFORTS!

Many raffle tickets were sold from what I heard and bought. There were great prizes to be had from companies who stepped up to the plate and donated nice items. Known a bit more ahead of time, the turn out would have been huge!
Glad you guys stepped up to the plate. The Taco's were to die for and the Nachos were smokin too.

1uglyranger
09-04-2005, 10:45 PM
Well, we just got back, and the rest will be trickiling in, in the next couple hours, or days...

The turnout was smaller than we expected for Labor Day weekand, but almost everyone on the trail stopped in to eat some tacos, and buy some raffle tickets

Anyone wanna guess how much money we raised this weekend??

Our goal for the weekend was $2500 in total funds to donate to Rubicon Trail Foundation. We knew that it was going to be tough, cause lets face it, we only starting planning this thing 4 weeks ago
But the people that we had, pulled together, and the folks on the trail suprised the heck out of us

So, who wants to know the total??

Anyone???

We only have rough numbers, cause there is a paypal account, and commissions coming in from vendors....so I can't give you an exact number....
But...

At the end of the day today, I counted over $4600 in cash on hand, not including commisions, or the paypal account
There is about $400 in the paypal account, and we can expect at least $132 in commisions, cause thats what I totaled from just the DVD's sold, and JD Films promised $8 a movie..........

So, all our hard work has turned into over a $5000 donation to the Rubicon Trail Foundation

I want to personnally thank everyone that was a part of this. That means Vendors, FOTR, RTF, all the people that consumed tacos, all the people that donated to a great cause, and last, but certainly not least....... all my brothers, and sisters in the Dysfunctional Rockcrawlers Club (and of course all who helped that aren't even members, cause there was a lot of you too).

Thanks everyone, it was a blast, and we will be doing this again next year...

TDO family and friends rock! I met so many great people this weekend. Wheelers young and old, with rigs from the mild to the wild all had full bellies and bought raffle tickets to help our beloved trail. Hikers made contributions, Dirt bikers, mountain bikers, locals drove in to the spillway in their cars... and they all spent some of their hard earned money!

It was exceptional for a first shot at an organized (yet dysfunctional) event. I hope everybody had fun and hope we can do this again next year!

The grub was grand, and I was impressed with how hard the TDO club worked to make individual contact with everyone that went past, as well as keeping an eye out for parking issues. Parking could have been a real mess, and I think you all pulled it off without significant complaint!

Perhaps most important of all, you got out the specifics on the access changes, and distribution of the various hand-outs. I was happy to help with that, but even happier to pitch in some dead presidents in exchange for some killer grub.

$5K is simply amazing! The trail needs clubs to step up and pitch in, and DAMN, the Dysfunctional Rockcrawlers really came through!
