is it just me, or does that rig look a bit tipsy? maybe it's the pixel width, but it looks pretty precarious...

I was thinking the same thing but as a newbie I held my tongue. The top pics looks like my Uncle Bob on New years eve after he's had a few.

Plus you may want to check your steering wheel I think you put it on the wrong side of the rig?

yeah, the lift is equivalent to about 10inch coil lift, no body lift and factory width axles

so yeah, you could assume its very tipsy
which is why i think he needs a windscreen hoop

Nah, not hoop, but wider wheels.
Swampers? 15" ..... PHAT.

that bad boy has only got the factory four pot in it dude

he hopes to turbo it soon, but yeah, four pots wont like 15" wide swampers ;) on standard gears anyways

Thats my rig.
The pic from the front where it looks all spastic it is in the same spot as the one taken from the rear.
It looks a lot skinnier than it is, I think the pics were saved a bit distorted or something.

As soon as I can get the digi camera again I will get some close ups of the suspension.
The front is a similar set up to Slinky from SRC. The rear is a 3 link with panhard.

Since those pics I have cut the front bar down to the chassis width.
Put on 2 inch wheel spacers.
Cut out the rear gaurds out, nearly 3inches up and back. The tyres still hit the chassis a little bit in the rear and rub the front shocks a little in the front.
I have to re mount the rear shocks for a little more down travel as the springs are at full compression and the shock still has about 2-3inches of travel left.
It is a bit hairy on side angles!! Just have to get used to it a bit more, thats all. It is very very very soft!! Body rolls real bad on the road, but it works real good off road.
As soon as I get a chance I am going to make up a front section for the cage. The cage is just padded, so it looks big, cops over here have a thing about cages being padded!
Tyres, still undecided, either 40x17x15 Ground Hawgs, 38.5x14.5x15 TSL SX, 38.5x16x15 Baja Claws. Probably the Ground Hawgs, just to be different, everyone has Swampers!
Dont worry about the old 3b diesel, change the gearing it will be sweet as!!

i gotta control myself or i am gunna have an enforced holiday again!!!!!!!!!!

Going to try and organise the camera for next week and try and get some pics done.

When I took it out to Porters the guys I was with, including Rod Ferguson in his Patrol, all were impressed with how good it works.

It is a project, so I doubt if it will stay as it is for too long!

Already planning to cut the rear of the chassis off, tube it and do a double a-frame set up.

I wanna wheel it for a little while first though!!

Its all ok, just a little bit of a ding in the passenger side gaurd.

I must get the cage finished soon!!

I just dropped a wheel into this HUGE rut and over she went!
Pretty funny.
