Kudos to Parts mike

I love dealing with this guy, it's always a good experience

more than 4 months ago I bout a Bronco 4" dropped pitman arm from him for my blazer.

I called him today to order my spring center pins and brake line adapters and just happen to ask him if he would be willing to swap out the "old" pitman arm I ordered for this new one I needed. I thought a swap straight across would be cool at this point.

He said "Absolutely"....and he's sending me back the difference of $31.00. Furthermore he's gonna send me the "small" parts I need up front, without even giving him a Credit card number for assurance, and then I'm gonna send him the "old" pitman arm, and then he's gonna just send out the new pitman arm and the cash back.:beer::beer:

Here's how that would have went with a "TYPICAL" vendor.

ME: "Hey I have this old pitman arm that I never mounted will you exhange with me and send me back the difference"

THEM: Uhhh sorry that's the part you ordered

ME: How about YOU keep the difference??

THEM: "Sorry can't help you, you'll just have to purchase another from us. We'll need cash up front BUT, we'll ship the part to you on 4-33 weeks :eek:"

So, you've had some bad experiences with vendors other than Mike, eh?

Afraid I have to say just the opposite. Vendors have been great about getting stuff out to me quick, but UPS has lost 3 items for me. Finally find them, but.. The last time Mr. Scout sent me a replacement item, free of charge, and free of shipping. Then, when the originally shipped item showed up 2 weeks later, I just rejected it and UPS had to ship it back to him.

Actually no, not small vendors, they usually give the best service. I meant to say places like 4Wheel parts wholesalers, and the like. My bad, I didn't mean to give small vendors a bad name.:(

The big guys.. they are a problem. I've gone into 4wpw three times now. First time they were beaten in price by 25%. Wouldn't match, even after I gave them the number of the guys to match. Second and third times, they didn't have what I wanted.

If it ain't shiny and chromed, they don't have it. And about the only shiny or chrome thing on my truck is the plate blocking off my mechanical fuel pump hole. :)

Oh, wait. I forgot. My new premium hubs are shiny, and the selector is chrome plated. Dang. Better get out the black rattle can again I guess.... :)
