The Off Road Business Association (http://www.orba.biz/) made a comment on talk radio that may not be a big deal but it sure in the hell don't help matters much for either user group so I wrote thier leaders via their contact page on their web site...

I'm in Sacramento California and listening to KFBK where I just heard one of your ORBA representatives say something to the effect that "mountain bikers in some cases hurt the trail more than motorized recreation." This may be true but...

I am both a mountain biker and a 4wheeler. I see miss use by both users. You have idiot 4wheelers making their own trails, leaving trash behind, digging holes with their tires and more. You have MTBers doing similar actions but in a much smaller scale i.e. single track.

I'm not here to protect the actions of either group of idiots but you know darn well that the ones screwing things up are the minority. Most of your MTBers are like minded with responsible off highway users. They stop others from doing wrong and clean up after wrong doers when needed.

So for you to single out mountain bikers in your radio interview/spot is irresponsible and not cool. Your organization should seek alliance with the likes of IMBA and other trail user groups. No matter if you can't get along with any of them, do you want to do battle with them? I believe your statement on the radio is only going to hurt your cause not redirect blame!

And yes, I do give the MTB organizations the same crap when they spout off about 4wheelers! :flipoff2:
