I am 2" SOA w/ a 1" body lift (don't go over 1") and I clear 38's just fine.:D

That is the exact setup I'm running and I love the way it works. Cutting the body would have worked fine instead of the body lift, but I needed to keep it to clear the tranny. The 38s fit great and it still flexes very nice. Hope this helps.

I am 4 inch SOA and I dont need a body lift for my 38's. Course my fenders arent exactly straight ;)

We are doin an SOA on RYSYJ with 4.5 RE springs and 2 body lift, I think its gonna be a little much. Dump the body lift ;)

What about the benefits of a BL? Like motor, tranny, and gas tank lifts, or belly-up skids. All require at least 1" BL.

easy there smokey, you asked, we REPLIED. Did you by chance read the Jeep Tech mission statement when you registered??? why don't you tell me what it says about bodylifts:rainbow:

Unless your bodylift is an integrated part of your tub it will cause lateral stress in your tub and body mounts, causing more harm than good. Cut you sheet metal, and grow a thicker skin if your going to play on our playground:flipoff2: NEWBIE!!!

are you sure your rig is big enough? Maybe if you got the same body lift that columbian gold there was thinking of maybe you would be hardcore:flipoff2:

 To answer your question PR....again......I PERSONALLY dont think you should keep the body lift, because I know from experience 38's will fit from the springs alone.

this is my friend mikes jeep he has 4inch springs and a 2 inch body lift,he also has to many add a leafs in the rear pack which is why the rear wont flex, and those are 35s he didnt have the 38s mounted yet, personally id just chew away at the sheetmetal, if you have seen my rig you know theres not much left

well i'll be the devils advocate on the body lift. to answer your question no you will not need one. i run spring over with jc whitney 7leaf hd rear cj springs at all 4 corners and also a 3" body lift and i clear my 38.5 sx's. so with 4" springs you shouldn't need the bl. i just had to speak up for bl's because i have been running the 3" i have on mine for 11 1/2 years without a problem. people are always quick to say how bad they suck and what problems they cause but i wonder how many of those have actuall run a bl and had the problems they are referring to. as stated i have had mine on for almost 12 years i really didn't start wheeling hard until about 5 years ago but in that time i have rolled three times not to mention all the other trail damage i have had from rocks, trees, etc. the body lift is still there and holding strong. yes if you put a body lift on a rusted out pos you will have problems but to say that bl's themselves are problematic i just don't believe. just speaking from personal experience :D
