What is the deal with this stuff? I am using white Durabak-18 (the stuff with UV inhibitor) and on the top of the can it has a sticker that says "Accelerator Manditory". On their website all it says is that the accelerator will speed up the drying process and not have any effect on the product. WTF? that isn't exactly "accelerator manditory"! I would rather not use the accelerator if I dont have to. I have a feeling that this accelerator is just some sort of -ketone, but im not positive. Please help!! thanks.

BTW, I tried to call Durabak about this, but nobody answered. Didn't really expect them too, they seem kinda lazy about answering the phone.

The UV add. may react with the products normal accelerator in the can in such a way it can't sit on a shelf or be added until needed would be my guess.

Basically when they add the UV stabilizer it reacts in such a way the product hardens in the can?

Just use it. It probobly helps with the UV protection, and it will accelerate the curing process. If you read the directions, you shouldn't put it to heavy use for four days with the accelerator. How long do you think it will take without????????? I just redid mine in the white, and I let it cure for 4 days before putting in seats, etc.... I would have felt better waiting longer. This was the second time on the inside of the tub, and first time on the outside.
