I have an 86CJ-7 right now with 4" BDS springs, 1" Shackle, and run 33"MT's. I dont like the set up, I think my springs are too short, shackle angle sucks. I am looking at doing SOA with some stock YJ springs, clear 35,s and get some more flex. How will the SOA compare too my lift now???

search, search, search. it will work nicely. keep the shackles, toss your current springs, and go get some stock yj springs. put it all together and watch it sag. :flipoff2:

just run stock rear cj springs on all four corners and build a traction bar (anti wrap)
lots of articles on this

Ok, here's my 2 cents worth w/ the YJ vs CJ springs. The rear CJ springs are the same length as the YJ, the CJ has more arch to them and I believe a higher spring rate. The front CJ are shorter and narrower than the YJ & CJ rears (new spring/shackle hangers). If you go w/ the JY springs, get 2 sets of springs (rears have a higher spring rate so use them). Take the main leaf off of the old fronts and cut it as close to the start of the bend for the eye (so it sits under the main leaf flat on the ends). You will also want to take 1 to 2 more leafs from the parts spring pack, you can cut the leafs shorter if you wish, just round the ends off a bit. This not only helps keep from sagging, but helps combat axle wrap. You still get awesome flex. The CJ 7 rears are great too, basically use the same approach as w/ YJs. The key here is also using some Aluminum anti cease compound on the parts that slide on each other. It not only stays put for a long time, but it is slicker than snott. You won't believe the extra flex you get.:D
The ride and flex are worth the swap, plus there is less bounce back when attacking rocks.
