IN OHIO WE PAY SALES TAX ON A USED TRUCK WHEN WE TRANSFER THE TITLE BASED ON AMOUNT STATED ON TITLE. IS IT THE SAME IN IOWA?

Yes it is. I grew up there, and it's soooo much easier than MO. IA has no property taxes, inspections, etc. Hassle free licensing really. I imagine if you bought it from a private party, you got the seller to leave the amount blank or "fudged" the number a bit right?

I paid a whoping $50 in tax on my POS 2WD Toyota. I only paid 300 for it, but I hate the DMV! lol

The Legislature was Bitching a while back about all of the revenue they were loosing due to people "fudging" on the stated sales price.:rolleyes: :flipoff2: It is not a bad deal.
