: Window Switch as Rev Limiter?

I just put a Weber on my Sami so my stock rev limiter (OEM carb) is gone. I am looking for a cheap rev limiter. I am thinking of just using a window switch triggered off the coil negative and running the NC output to coil positive.

It almost seems too simple to be true. Anyone ever try this ... am I missing something?

i have a window switch on a 1997 f150 with N-X nitrous setup and if i hit the rev limiter it automatically shuts the nitro off . i think the way you are going 2 hook it up will work. but not sure.contact one of the nitrous places, N-X people are very helpfull they install window switches on most of there new setups..

Am I missing something how is the switch going to read rpm's and how will you adjust which rpm's it will activate?

It's not a window switch like the one you use to move your power windows up and down. A window switch turns a circuit on at a certain rpm's and then off at another rpm - it has a "window" of being on. Used mostly in nitrous to shoot it in at a certain rpms, but limits the rpm's.

I use this MSD window switch for a custom application. http://www.msdignition.com/rpm_14.htm
