Chark

I have a Ford RC44, after trying to come up with a combo of various O.E. inners the thing is still too wide. How much narrower can I get using Chevy outers? I want to stay 8 lug, but losing the big 2 piston calipers will help with the use of 15" wheels.I need to lose about 1.75" more.:)

Chevy outers are not going to make your axle any narrower.
The only thing that the chevy outers will get you is a smaller caliper that will clear 15" wheels better.
Yep, Chark is right.
You'll have to narrow the axle. The 80's Full Size Jeep Wag has a Dana 44 inner axle shaft that is just under an inch shorter. Or you could get new wheels and an increased off-set.
The long side is an inch shorter, the stub side is 4-5 inches shorter depending on year of FSJ.
