So i pulled my Dana 30 out of my 87 Cherokee and tore it down for a complete rebuild. It is a non disconnect axle. All the bearings were trashed and I had to cut them off so I ruined the pinion shaft shims. I ordered a Dana 30 master install kit that was a Motive Gear brand kit. The problem is that my pinion shaft has a 1.125" diameter and the pinion bearing that came in the kit has a 1.185" inside diameter. How many different pinion shaft sizes are there? Did I get a kit for the wrong carrier? I have no problem buying a pinion bearing and the shims. The kit did not include the pinion shims, so where is a good place to get the shims from? I just do not want to order the wrong thing again since the package said no returns on opened kits.
