I know this isn't a hardcore question, but it's a newbie Jeep question and this is the newbie forum.
When in Drive or reverse and the jeep is stopped there's a clanking kind of vibration. Sometimes the problem is enough that it completely stalls the engine or sometimes the RPMs just go down, like letting the clutch out while holding the brake in in a manual. I was hoping someone would have an idea of what is up. Is it the torque converter? Maybe the ATF is just real dirty and it needs a change? It's a 98 TJ with the 3-speed auto.
