Has anyone retrofitted thier trailer with H/E actuator and disc bakes? I've got a Big Tex 10PI and would like to retrofit it with 8 lug x 170mm disc brakes. I tend to run my trailer close to its 9900 lb GVRW and I want it to stop better.
Anyone have a recommendations or experience?

I dont hav any experience with what you are asking specifically, but my cousin bought a new dump trailer and the brakes sucked. He went to OTTs Friction Supply (not sure if its nationwide) and got some high performance shoes. The brakes work AWESOME now!! You might wana try that first, as the cost was minimal.

No first-hand experience, but from talking to a few guys who pull for a living, there's a noticable delay between hitting the brakes, and the trailer brakes activating...
I did it cause when I picked up the trailer it was a mess, had really tiny spindles/hubs and 1/2 ton ford spindles (used 78/79 half ton ford brakes) just happened to fit. Ran up to Paragon from central Jersey yesterday, brakes worked great. Not much delay, pump reaches max of 1200 PSI in less than a second (if needed). I'm using new prodigy for controller on 05 dodge CTD.
