I found a set of V-6 thirds with 4.29s in them. My 4 cyl. thirds have detroit lockers in them. Will I be able to swap out the lockers from the 4 cyl. thirds to the V-6 thirds?

Search the FAQ in the Toyota forum - top of the page. If you ask w/o searching first, you'll be ingnored.

Thanks for the help buddy, but I didn't find anything. I don't know, maybe I'm using the darn search thing wrong? But anyhow, I'm sure that someone will read this that can answer the question off the top of their head. Thanks anyway.
What's the carrier bearing part number on the 4 cyl version locker?
edit----some of the older Detroit Lockers(hard lockers) had the same larger OD where the bearing slip on as the V6 diffs so the V6 carrier bearings could be used on the 4 cyl locker cases....which means the 4 cyl locker could be used in a V6 carrier. So if you have one of those the answer is YES, it will fit.
Now even if you don't have the larger OD bearing surface......a machine shop could rather easily make up a steel bushing to make it fit.....if somebody would make up a bushing then 4 cyl lockers would would go in V6 carriers.....they already sell a special bearing to do the reverse to let V6 lockers fit in 4 cyl 3rds.....
you need the "opposites" of these.... http://completeoffroad.com/wsm/i-1236_conversion_carrier_bearing_toy_8_4_cyl_to_6_c yl.html?PHPSESSID=972d96fe58e273774202c8c4d5c051c2

Right on man, thanks for the info! I knew someone out there would read this and know the answer. I'm not sure which locker I have, but it is in an 82 yota, so it's possible that it might be an older locker. Thanks again for the input...much appreciated!
