So I went to push in the parking brake on the superdooty the other day and SNAP the cable broke right at the pedal. :(
I haven't had a chance to pull it apart yet, but it looks like the cable pulled out of the end right where it seats in the pedal.
Anyone every have to replace one of these? How much of a nightmare is it going to be. :(

its not that bad, you should actually check for a recall for the parking brake on your truck. ive done a few under recall. (i work at a dealership). but if you do end up doing it on your own all you have to do is remove the parking brake bracket and slip out the cable and crimp in the new one.

Cool thanks. I looked at it and wouldn't be surprised if it was a recall the ferrel on the end of the cable just fell apart  .
Now I have to find a dealership I can trust. Rancho Ford in Temecula can lick my hairy nutsack.

Nevermind, i just busted the recoil, not sure exactly what i did, but it looks like a BITCH to get that whole assembly out of there with the clutch being there and all...damn not looking forward to this one...

my parking brake on my old 2000 Excursion PSD actually had the pulley for the Ebrake cable split in half because it is very poorly designed. Was a bitch to pry the Ebrake cable out from being wedged in the pulley/plate. Overall it only took about 30 minutes on an automatic PSD. Could be a little rougher with a clutch housing in the way.
