Yes, you read that right.

Shifter assembly broke on the plowtruck's 203, so we dropped in a MileMarker part-time kit and did a little reengineering to the shifter. Now, more or less like a twin-stick 205, we have one lever for high/low, and another for two or four wheel.

I'll let'cha know how it all works out. :D

That looks cool Doc. If I still had the back half of my 203 I might want to do that! Pretty neat though. Keep up the good work. Man I wish I could get that lathe from you. :flipoff2:

Well, right now I'm trying to figure out if I want to stick with my original plan, which was to have a shortshaft THM400 with a bolt-on yoke rebuilt in a BOP case, and use that divorced 205, or have it rebuilt to married-Tcase specs and go with the same doubler setup you have in the works.

No matter what, the tranny has to be rebuilt, and I have two divorced and two married 205s, and two usable 203s, and I'll be ditching the old driveshafts and tranny/tcase crossmembers anyway.... so it's just a question, I guess, of cost and time.

I dont get it, how is that better than the stock hurst shifter? On mine I get Lo 4wd, high 4wd, Nutral, Low 2wd, High 2wd or something like that.. I cant remember exactally.. (been awhile since i looked at the shifter) Can you explain to me why it is better?? I dont mean to sound like a jerk (I feel like I am sounding like I am) I just wanna know the advantage.. I almost did the same thing, but thought about it and couldnt understand why i would want to.... Garrett

I never said it was "better". :D

Seriously, the shifter mechanism jammed and broke- technically just worn out, really- and rather than find a replacement (which wouldn't have been that hard, if it weren't the middle of winter) we just gutted the mechanism, welded one stick solid, added a second arm on the other bit, and ditched the worn/damaged detent parts.

So really it was a "just 'cause I could" thing. :D

Hey Greene- why'd you have the 203 case clocked way the hell up that side? Clear the exhaust or something?

And got any parts I might take in trade for the lathe? :)

Its just Cool! :D Thats the only thing I can think of other than to get the shifter on the other side, add a little ground clearance, and because I can. Those are not really that good of reasons. Mostly to be different, and to get people to ask why.:rasta:
