will it be enough?

Will I rub with 33s and 4" of lift. Stupid question I know, I am just paranoid that 4" won't be enough.

Well, I fit 40 inch tires with totaly stock suspension on my M37 and they don't rub. I don't know if you can fit 33's on a ford escort with only a 4" lift without rubbing

You'll be fine. A little bit of rubbing is easily remedied with a sawzall...
