howdy folks..
well, i've got this here problem with my 96 s10 2.2L..(besides the fact that its a 2.2L of course lol) it seems to enjoy cutting out while driving, and sometimes has a hard time starting. when it does these 2 things, there is not activation of the fuel pump. after 10 minutes or so after it cuts out, fuel pump primes the rails for the usual 3 sec, and it starts right up. a couple days ago, when it happened fuel relay in the glovebox was cliking quite a bit, actually at the same rate as the fuel pump. replaced fuel relay, but problem resurfaced again. took it in to a good mechanic, and of course problem didn't reproduce. i can hardly drive it now, as i dont want to get rear ended if it cuts out again. its a shame, because other than this, the little truck has been great. Especially since i put some michelin xcx apt's on her. plowed through some foot deep snow with no problems. so, all help is incredibly appreciated...thanks

First things first, check power and ground to that relay. Make sure they are both good. A bad connection on either side could be intermitant and overwork that relay, thus burning it up.

Second thing, go to JTR (www.jagsthatrun.com) and order the book to put a small block in that thing.:flipoff2: Next thing you know it will be a solid axle conversion using Dana 44's, then up to the 60's, then on to coilovers, then....

It's a vicious cycle.
