Front Axle of my '85 Pick-up looks like this one.... Seems like some sort of link bracket on the tube... There is a spot on the frame for it to hook up to but the swaybar is in the way. My buddy has an '85 identical to mine but the bracket is not on the axle... I assume it is to help with axle wrap or somthing... Should I hook it up or lrave it off? I don't seem to have any problem without it....

It is the mount for the torque rod...if your buddy doesn't have it it is cause somebody already torched it off.

Cut it off and grind it down.
It will only get in the way.

The main side affect will be when you hit the brakes. A hard stop will cause your steering to pull. However, if you leave it on and wheel it hard, the torque rod will end up ripping the bracket off of the frame. Best bet is to get rid of it and do crossover steering.

Yep, then you can install a IFS "Power Steering" box and all is gooooood :D

Yep, it'll just pull a little bit when you stop if you remove it. I haven't had one for years. No big deal.

First thing the torch hit when I went cross over. It gets in the way and is unnecessary.

think of it as a panhard bar with trucks that have crossover steering already like jeeps. it keeps the axle moving the same way the draglink does to eliminate bumpsteer
