What transmissions came behind the diesel 2500's in the early 90's? Were there any reliability issues with these transmissions? I'd like to hear if they are good/bad. Thanks :D :usa: :D

If it is an auto it will be 47rh, if it's a stick early ones were getrags, about 91 or 92 they went to new ventures I think.

The 90 to 92 used either the A500 auto(non overdrive) or the getrag manual
The 93 used an A518 overdrive or the getrag
94 was the first year for the NV 4500 and also the autos were changed to the 42rh/46rh/47rh series
94 is also the first year for the 1500/2500/3500 series numbering prior to that they were 150/250/350series numbers so if you are looking at a 2500 series then you are looking at a 94 or newer which had the good trannies.. If you are looking at a 93 or older Avoid the getrag as they wear out quickly when used hard and are expensive to rebuild whe compared to the NV4500

They never used an A-500 behind the diesel, the 727s were still available behind them in the early 90s most were 47rh or if you wish 618 not 518, no difference between 618 and 47rh exept they decided to go to gm style nomenclature for whatever reason.
