What are these in and what years to avoid?

The 60-2 have em?

1980+ Ford F250s. And they could include the 60-2 case...

not all f250s and not most, you will have to look hard to find them they are not common.

Not all F250s, but when you do see em, thats what they'll be in...

try to get an early 70's ford E-350 van 60 rear end. it's a full floater and when you cut the long side down to match the short side, it's a great jeep width, for cheap!

Watch out you don't get a 61 out of a ford van... 1.5" 35 spline FF, but only high ratio carriers unless you use a gear spacer.

A 60-2 can be found in international scouts(these only have 30 splines) and the ones in ford trucks are only 30 spline as well..the jeep version of the 60-2 has 35 splines and does not have c-clips.The jeep version can be found in j series trucks typically from 1969-1973.I have seen them in J-10's and 20's with the 5 on 5 1/2 pattern. I am not sure on the scout and ford version with regard to the c-clips. Hope this helps.:D

The 35 spline ones came in a J4000.

mmm...not all 35 spline ones...spicer axle index catalog lists them with 35 splines in 1969-1973 j20 trucks and I have personally seen two all orginal OEM j10's with them in them. Further, I owned one of them...But, I to have heard that some j4000's did have them as well..kinda strange that a j4000 would have a 5 on 5 1/2 bolt pattern..Actually, some 60's that came in dodge muscle cars of the same era sported the 35 spline semifloating(without c-clips) 60 as well:D

Never knew that the 60-2 last past the name change, J3000/4000 to J-10/20. Well there it is always learning something on this board. All the 60-2 I have/had came out of J4000(3) and J3000(1), pulled 2 and had two complete trucks.

I see alot of the Mopar ones at swaps, most of the ones I see are like 23ish spline, but I have seen the 35 spline ones to. I would have to guess that it was a Hemi or non Hemi thing. Not sure, not into the Mopar car thing.

The 60 in the mopar muscle cars were 35 spline, the truck rears had the lower spline counts, but due to the price of the car units a lot of people are welding car ends on the truck tubes. So you're liable to run into anything, sure way to tell the car housings is the cast in pinion snubber bosses, none of the truck housings had this.

The way to tell the difference between the dodge muscle car version and truck version is the lug pattern in the car version is 5 on 4 1/2 and the truck version is 5 on 5 1/2. :D
