which is the best locker to fit in the front of my RR/LR hybrid, i have a detroit in the rear which is great, but i dont want one in the front as i do drive on the street as well, so need a LSD type i guess, what do you recommend, don`t say ARB as i am on a budget....well until i sell lots of stuff on Eblag!

You WANT at least a full Maxi Drive or Jac Mac combo with locker, axles, CV's and flanges.
But you can get away nicely with a TrueTrac LSD. I have them front and rear in my RR. A bonus is that it gives you some self centering back on a presumably lifted vehicle. There are many sources for them, Ashcroft beeing one.

As long as ou aren't running low t case gears or a crawler I think a tru-trac is a good choice if you have an auto. With a tru-trac you have to be able to activate the brake and the throttle at the same time to get it to work pretty difficult with a manual. Also with crawler gears KC constantly broke cvs if you are running regular gears I think you'll be fine.

I found that my truetrac became completely worthless as soon as I went to 35" tires. it worked OK with 32s

Darkstar,
I assume you're talking about one in the front also? What did you switch to in it's place?

I'm running ARB front and rear now... all the HD drivetrain stuff and differentials are LONG GONE...
I have a set of front axles and CVs (stock) left... all the good shit is gone. sorry

MacNamarra would be my 1st choice for a front locker.
Maxidrive are better than ARB, except in front because they can be slow to unlock.
