I just ordered a line lock that I was planning on using as a parking brake. I was going to have it lock all 4 brakes. however now i'm thinking, since i have a twin stick tcase, i could just plumb it in the rears. That way i could lock the rear brakes and throw it in front wheel drive. Think this would work at all or should i just lock all 4 like i was planning?

That will work awesome!!!
I only have rear brakes on mine, so if I heel-toe it, it drags the front end sideways, pretty cool feeling, hehe.
If you have the $$$$, get 2 line locks, and put one at each rear wheel, so you can pivot a little better. This may be harder to do, but it would work better. locking both still is very impressive, though.
better yet, get rear steer, and 4 line locks, so you can pivot on any corner, hahahaha
Good Luck!!!

i would do one on each wheel but my rear diff is welded. Not worth the cash to go detroit just so i can pivot a little better.

Ahhh, my bad
i guess that would only work with an ARB, or hubs in the rear..
Well, stick to your plan, you will be happy.

it should work with a detroit too because the rear would be in neutral. unfortunatly im welded so i'm stuck with plan B.

You have all 4 brakes tied together ? ..Normally the front and rear are separated...

Steve,
How did this end up working for you? Does locking both allow you to turn any tighter at all?

I have 3 line locks on my FJ40, one for the front and one on each rear. Twin sticked and ARBs. The set up works great, got turning radius down to 24ft. The difference between lock one side or both rears seems to be minimal, so a welded rear diff shouldn't matter too much

I also have line locks on the rear wheels.
works awesome with a lockright and the rear in neutral.
i have 4 linelocks. it turns better when boht rear wheels are locked. if only one it starts to drag the rear.
and if you do one side from rear and one side from front. it goes like tank:D :D

So, according to your experiences, it sounds like doing one electric line lock wouldn't be any worse turning wise than doing the dual lever cutting brakes.
The one line lock would be cheaper too.

Yep, mine turns tighter with both rears locked than with 1 rear locked. Twin sticked and ARB'd
