i now really wanna do the doubler. but i have a few options. i was hopin i could get your thoughts on everything.

first, i could save up for a long time(probly about a year) and buy a doubler kit and swap over a gm np205 to 32 spline. this way i could keep my 60 front, which already has 4.88 gears(which i have for the rear also).with the 4.88 and a doubler i could be pretty low. lookin at like 1300-1500 bones in the end.

second, sell my front 60, buy a furd hp60, probly gonna be 4.11(which i have in the rear, 4.88 not installed) and get a doubler kit ($720) and use a furd 205, which around here i can get for a case of beer. 4.11 and a doubler wouldnt be bad either. furd 205 is a better case, 32 spline alsmost all the way around, stuff like that, and its easy to find. cost ??? cause i would have to see what i get for my 60 and what i pay for a hp60. but, i will get an extra 150-200 for my brand new 14ff 4.88x gears. i figure the worst itll be is 900 bones.

what do you guys think? i know the hp60 is stronger and gives better driveline angle, but thats not that big of a deal right now. help!!!

Well from my statement that will follow this you will see what my opinion is..

I hate when people put ford parts on a Chevy :flipoff2:

im already puttin dodge parts on it so it cant get much worse!! i understand what you are saying, but i always say that its a dana and a new process part, not a furd part. now a motor and tranny is a furd part.

Why don't you get a ford 205 case and swap the 31 spline input and the 32 spline outputs in the chevy 205 case. You already will have to bore the chevy case out for the input any way so this seems to be the best way to go for what you have and can get cheaply.

very good idea but a chevy 205 around here is at least $150 plus the cost to have it bored for the ford 205 input. then i would also probly have to rebuild it because it is all apart then thats an extra $165. as opposed to the ford case i just bought for $25 that i know is good and from a good truck. im not sure im gonna do a furd front end yet but i figured i could get this t-case because it was a good deal and if i have to i will use the input in a chevy case.

I would go with the 78/79 Ford D60 if you can get one for a good price. You'll end up with better driveline angles, and the Ford NP205 is a great case to use for 203/205.

For the customers that call us who don't want to consider swapping their front diff, and are on a budget we usually hook them up with a ford input for $69 to swap into their GM case. Either solution works.
