I have this code on my ecm that says there is a fault in the electronic spark control circuit. I am wondering what this is exactly. The only thing i haven't done on the iginition is the distributor internals, but it could be anything. Any insight is appreciated.

I could be wrong on this, but I believe that it is referring to a fault in the knock sensor. If you have one, it should be screwed into one of the engine block drain plug locations on the side of the block. Either the sensor itself, or the module it's wired to could be at fault.

You should be able to find the module (usually flat, about 3" square plastic with flat 4 or 6-pin harness connector) by tracing the wire from the sensor.
