99 dodge ctd auto trans question

Is the torque converter suppossed to lockup in 3rd? I know it does when you're driving with O/D off, but with overdrive on, is it suppossed to lock up?

I saw some old recalls on my truck and I can't decide if one of them is to make the tc lock up in 3rd when using O/D or not.

I don't know if is should lock up in 3rd or not. Most guys on the TDR have put "mystery switches" in thier trucks so they could make it lock up in second and third, and control lock up in OD. Basically you find the circuit that controls the lockup solenoid and put a switch in the cab to make it lockup when you want.
