I need a good set of snap ring pliers and lock ring pliers, anyone know if any of the pliers in the kit below are lock ring pliers? I am sick of cheap snap ring pliers! Part #'s are TP12, TP32, TP34, TP56
I found it for $35 for the kit, trying to decide if it is worth it..

$35 for pliers, huh? I dunno....do they came with a blow job?
It's difficult to tell from your picture, but it looks like all of those pliers have round pins on the end, designed only for snap rings with holes, not lockrings (without holes). If you have a better picture, you may be able to determine if they will work as lockring pliers by inspecting the tips more closely.
These lockring pliers are at Sears for about $16:

Notice how the ends are scored a little bit so they don't lose the grip on the ring and send it flying off across the shop where you never see it again? Or at least, that's the idea. :)
Besides, you don't want this tool for taking those things off anyway. If you buy pliers, how are you gonna manage to gouge the palm of your hand with the tip of your screwdriver? Yeah, that's what I thought, and that would take all the fun out of it.

Get the ones from Sears they are silver with a black handle with two buttons you push to change from open to closed, nicest I have seen and you only need one instead of three.

I've got an old Snap On set that were my dad's and he picked them up years ago. They have interchangeable tips which are great when you get carried away and do a "Snap Off".:D

Yes those are good...
They are the same as the ones I use in my H.S. auto shop.
Mine are a diff. brand from Car Quest or NAPA????
Same tool though. They reverse for inner or outter and are tough enough that my students have not broken them yet:rolleyes:
Lock rings are better on lock rings but I ussaully use the snap ring pliers cuz it's what I have and my budget is kinda small:)
T quote the head trainer at Harley...
Snap on Warrenty vs. Sears...
If I break a tool Snap On will gladdly stop by in the next week and replace it so I can finish the job. OR I can get in my truck and go down to Sears get a new tool and finish the job TODAY:flipoff2:
Kinda funny, kinda true...
Snap-on is still the best for some things...
But, why pay $$$$$$ for a Snap-on pliers that is made by Diamond and sells for less at fleet Farm?

i got mine at napa, they have interchangable tips and a screwdriver like handle that turns to force open or closed the snap ring.
these work great for those times when you need three hands.
