If you are working with a short wheelbase rig (CJ5/CJ7and probably even the CJ8and Scout) you will have rear driveshaft issues. In a CJ5 where your driveshaft is only about 15inches to begin with you have to subtract the length of your adapters(one from the tranny to the 203 gearbox and one from the 203 to the D300) and the length of the 203 gearbox(6 inches).. So if you could make both adapters 1 inch thick you will have a total of 8 inches to take from the rear D-shaft for a CJ5 that would leave 7 inches ofdrive shaft which is barely enough for the Ujointsand then the angle will be so steep you will have vibration problems and wear out U-joints every 100 miles.. You'll love the gear ratios. You'll have almost double the crawl ratio. And still have the OD. Plus the tranny will take anything you can throw at it. I actually just ordered a doubler from them to mate a 203 to a d300. So neither of us will be the first to do this.
