: k5 driveshaft length ?

i have an 88' k5 with 6"springs and 35's... just this week i broke the factory rear driveshaft and need to get a new one but i broke it out of town and decided to drive it in FWD to my friends house... long story short i need to know what the factory length is so i can order another one... and does anyone know how much longer i should make it.. i know how to do it i just cant get to my truck :(

I'm not sure of the correct way to measure driveshaft length...

but my stock 90 blazer rear shaft is 29.5-29.75" from the center of one u-joint to the other.

My pile is also lifted 6", the new shaft is about 33.5" measured the same way.

Keep in mind there are many variables like springs not having the same amount of lift, different drivetrains, using the spacers to lower the transfer case, blah blah, blah.

oh yeah i foregot aobut having spacers and everything... nevermind.. looks like ill just go measure any buy a new one
