Well it looks like I gotta have a porta potty with me on the trail... to take care of the used food.

What about cooking? what are the regulations? can you bring a small BBQ? can you have a campfire? Or... do have to use something like a coleman stove only?

Please let me know.

Ok friend i will lay it out to you from what i know and what a forest service guy told me.

propane and coleman style fuel accesories are ok with proper permit

camp fires and charcoal are out right now because of the fire danger level

for more info i would contact the crystal basin ranger station

I doubt the ranger station is gonna be open tomorrow night at midnight... humm.. where to get a permit... :shaking:

you can get a permit at any ranger station so you should have got one at your nearest ranger station before hand a fire permit is day one stuff right thier.

yep. had a blast. I don't have the most capable of rigs, and still made it through with minimal damage. great views throughout the weekend.

can't make it up next weekend... family stuff. :(
