Ive got chance a to buy a dana 60 rearend cheap its already pretty narrow 64'' wheel mount to wheel mount . The only prob is its got 17 spline axles in it . Will they hold up to 38s and a v8 or not ? In the DFW area you can get rear 60's from 1 ton vans and 3/4-1 ton trucks for around $100-150 from a salvage yard. Most will be 30 splined. Ive got a buddy that bought one thinking it was a 30 spline.. didnt bother to check it out first.. needless to say, he took it back to the yard he got it from, and snagged a 14 bolt redruM 03-11-2002, 07:05 AM i have the same axle in the scrap pile if you come get it it is yours. but i dont recommend using it (thats why it is in the scrapper) but you are welcome to it.
