Hey guys .. I got a quick question . Ive got chance a to buy a dana 60 rearend cheap its already pretty narrow 64'' wheel mount to wheel mount . The only prob is its got 17 spline axles in it . Will they hold up to 38s and a v8 or not ? Is it whorth 250 bucks ? thanks for any input

NO! Don't get it. I can get 30-spline versions down here for $87/axle ALL DAY LONG! You can EASILY find a d60 rear with 30 splines for under $250!

I wouldn't think so. In the DFW area you can get rear 60's from 1 ton vans and 3/4-1 ton trucks for around $100-150 from a salvage yard. Most will be 30 splined.

if you want a good strong axle that is narrow get a chevy 14bolt fron a cab and chassis dually. they are only 63" wide. that is what i run.:D

What is it out of?
Just wondering why it only have has 17 spline shafts?

Its probably a 16 spline 60.. Ive got a buddy that bought one thinking it was a 30 spline.. didnt bother to check it out first.. needless to say, he took it back to the yard he got it from, and snagged a 14 bolt

i have the same axle in the scrap pile if you come get it it is yours. but i dont recommend using it (thats why it is in the scrapper) but you are welcome to it.

i just picked up 2 rear 60's for 150 bucks total dont get it dude look around.
