Try a risted radious arm. It makes a dramatic difference and you'll get better results than just making them longer.

Not sure what you want in the way of tips or tricks, since you've already made them.
Here are mine:

One thing I did which is a little different, is I ran the brake lines down the top of the arms. I like this idea better than having 2+ feet of flexible brake line in the wheel wells.

My arms looked identical to yours Basset then I wrapped the whole arm with 3/16" steel. I wasn't sure which C bushing taper to use. I have a new set of 2deg. but I think I may need 7deg. What did you use? Thanks

Those arms look great. I am going to be doing mine too. One thing I am going to do though is cut them way up front where there is a ton of material to add, gusset and weld to. I am set up for hauling ass in the sand/desert so I will nee to beef the shit out of mine.

Just my .02

The hinged radius arm seems to be the easiest, cheapest, returns to stock with a pin, SOLUTION out there.

I just don't understand why anyone would want to move the radius arm frame brackets/ANCHORS closer to the middle of their EB? So, while your at it, drop the brackets down, and improve the caster! :flipoff2:

Dang, I need to lighten up! ;)

I agree. Just trying to research all my options and see what the payoff would be.;) No matter what it is a step up from my torsion bars and IFS:cool:

The reason I like long arms is because your not asking 4 small plug welds to hold all the torque from the front end trying to twist...... so one link on the whole front end is holding all the load from the housing twisting... long arms and wristed both have good and bad points...

The plug welds aren't much of an issue. Look at how many people are running wristed arms, with no issue's period.

What about the increased torque on the c-wedges, produced by the longer radius arms during articulation? You are twisting those plug welds pretty hard any way.

I just don't see any advantages to running a long arm setup, over a hinged arm. Plus, the hinged arm can be re-pinned for the sway bar effect, for better road handling.

Damn, coby must have engraved that into my brain!

Brian, if you search the archives in the Ford section, Mike and coby used to banter back and forth about this, Mike long arms arm proven to be good, and wristed arms are proven too.
The only draw back i see to wristed arms is it add like 60lbs to your truck.

Im just really hard on stuff .... and long arms max out the shocks anyway and the mega flex stuff is kinda gone.... stability low CG and bangin bars is in and monster flex is out.... the ramp queen days are long gone.....but for ramp sake a 910 on a 30 degree with simple long arms and rear f150's isnt to bad.... but thats whats cool about all this...everyone can like something different...
