I need to replace my exhaust including the cat on my truck. The truck is a club cab short bed 2500. Was looking for some suggestions on what sounds good and performs well without breaking bank.
Thanks

The best exhaust system for a V-10? Something that's quiet. In all seriousness, I think a loud exhaust system on a V-10 really detracts from the truck. It makes it sound like a crotch-rocket/ricer crossbred, something that I doubt you want it to sound like. If you want something performance oriented I would suggest running a 3" single with a Flowmaster 70 series big-block muffler. They flow decent, yet are quiet.

Unless someone has a mass-produced "kit" on the market for a good price, I would just take it to a local reputable shop that is known in your area for good work and get a quote. You might be surprised at how well the pricing may be, and a good shop will know the tricks and parts to use to get the look and sound you are after.

It's near impossible to get a great sound out of a V10, especially in a truck. if you find one that sounds good, let me know, I've tried for a few customers of ours.

Even a viper doesn't have the cool sound until you wrap it out big time.
Keep it quiet and suprise some unsuspecting diesel owners. :grinpimp: I could even get you some v8 badges for the ultimate sleeper look. :D

Unless said "unsuspecting diesel owner" has a bombed diesel.... then Mr V10 is gonna choke! :flipoff2:

OK, that didn't add anything to the thread. I agree with DRM: A good exhaust shop can probably hook you up, and some are pretty reasonable in price

I used to have a 98 reg cab V10 and I put a 4" single exhaust on it. I might have removed the cats for offroad use only of course and then I merged the pipes from dual 2 1/4 I think into single 4". I used a dynomax race magnum which was too loud so I then added a cone shaped silencer deal that you can find at Summit, which made it kind of loud but not too bad. I wish I had a sound clip of it because it sounded goooood! Anyway if you want a good sounding V10 ford or Dodge this is the only way to do it. Later, Blair

Yeah, I was inferring stock diesel. My diesel will SPANK a V10, big time.

Dodge, or Ford V10? Maybe pulling, but unloaded -I know my Ford V10's were FAST :p

Yes, a ford or a dodge. If they are stock. My truck is mildly bobmbed, and I have injectors next on the list. If my truck was bone stock, I'd say either v10 would smoke me.

I run the flowmaster 70 series catback on my Ford V10. Its got a mild sound but did alot for power combined with a air intake.
