Hey , any info. on this guy ? I just talked with Jackie and she has got ED county search and rescue sending a chopper up now . But , she said they broke and he walked them up to caddy staging area on Monday where they met some guys from WA who were gonna take him back down to the rig which was not in the best of spots ( hangin off cliff sorta ) at bottom of caddy below v rock. She said it was secure but worries he may have been injured trying to repair rig. There were people at springs when they left to hike out Monday but she does not know if they ran into him when they were leaving or not. She fears the chopper may not be able to spot him . They broke the drivers side axle twice and were outa spares I think. Someone's gotta be able to get down there asap , I'm in north bay and would go but hell , someone is closer , c'mon , anyone ?

I know the immediate focus is on safety/food etc... But some info on the vehicle would be helpful so spare parts could possibly be taken if someone is close by.

We plan on heading in tomorrow night. We'll keep out eyes open for him, but that's the soonest we'll be going in.

Why to Loon and not Tahoe? He was at the bottom of Cadilac.

I just got off the phone with Jackie and everything is fine! A group of guys from Washington got Mark back to Loon at about 3:00am this morning. She went up and picked him up and they're driving into Sac on hwy 50 as I type this. She asked me to thank everyone that offered help and support!
To the guys that helped drag Mark out- you ROCK!!!

Wow, can't believe I'm reading this...My name is Larry, and I'm one of the guys from WA that got him out. man what a freakin mess it was. We brought him back to the Fallen Leaf campground with us, I took him back to his Jeep on tuesday. Someone had given him the wrong axle shafts, but lucky for him we had a set and gave him one. We helped him get it going again, but there was no way he could get back up Cadillac. It was wet and he simply could not get it going and kept losing traction. Part of it may have been fear of breaking another shaft, who knows. He decided to camp with us at Rubicon Springs and follow us out through Loon Lake. We fed him well, and made him take a shower in my camp shower set-up 'cause he stunk so bad :D He had a very difficult time with big sluice and several other areas, so I strapped him many times. One of our rigs broke a set of shackles, so we had to booty-fab a set, then another rig lost the alternator and chose to run ahead of us to get out before dark. bad move...made a wrong turn and it quit...then we had to go find him, put in another battery and get him out. None of us had been to the Con before, and we got lost in the bowl(?) at around midnight. I finally found our way to the gatekeeper, and found that my unlimited is a bit big to fit around the first rocks, so I drove over those 2 big ones :D I'm too friggin' old for these all nighters, but we all got out and had a blast there, even Mark. I called his wife around 3 am to let him know he was OK, but that he would be a while...see, he was stuck in 4Low...with a 4:1. Hey Mark, if you read this...fix your junk and better luck next time :D
