I am putting TBI on my 327 and have gotten a set of heads from an 88 Chev 350 Truck. Anyone know the size of the combustion chamber? I'm running smog 350 heads now (1976) that have the 76 cc chambers, and I've shaved .015 from them and use the GM shim head gasket to keep the compression up.
How much can be safely shaved from the TBI heads?

5 thousanths is pretty safe.

I'd call a local machinist who works on GM's primarily. when I did my 4.0L swap, I went to a guy known for working on Chrysler products. He took 20 thou off mine and I used a stock head gasket.
