There is no factory adapter to mate a 205 to a 420. The 420 was offered married to a T221 (Rockwell) t-case in 1968 only.

The sm420 only came married in 67' when mated to the 221 Rockwell. Before that it used a devorced t-case.I was trying to do the same on my 67' but in my search I didn't find a cost effective way.I don't like the sm465 shift pattern,so I'm just going to run a nv4500 :cool2: .

Get a 2wd SM420 and I'll sell you a fully divorced 205 pass drop from a 70's dodge to go with it. It's complete with shifter and side mount. $200

follow the path of least resistance and use an sm465
