I took my chevy in for the recall on the rear brakes and they said that was all good. Then they told me that my driver's seal had leaked gear oil on my e-brake shoes. They want $500 to fix it :barf: . So I go and buy the new shoes at a parts store $70 a pair and find out that the only place you can get that hub seal is at the Chevy dealer, no big deal only $20. After I put it in & lubed the seal & spindle I had to tap the hub on with a block of wood & a hammer. Get everything good to go and check it out the next day, a little dribble of oil down the backing plate :mad3: . Did I screw it up by tapping it with a hammer? It was about 1/4 of an inch from being seated. Anybody got any ideas??
