anyone tried it before?? or am i just getting too cheap now?? :flipoff2: I really dont wheel hard enough to need the strength of a 205 but having another 5 gears would be nice. And the fact thats what i have "hanging around"
EDIT: or should i just go with a 205?? :grinpimp:

I really dont wheel hard enough to need the strength of a 205 but... thats what they all say. :flipoff2: \
Personally, Id go 205 now and not have the unknown of if you were going to break the t-case... but thats just me.

honestly, If I was doing again, I think i'd use another chain drive case..
205's a whore to shift. Although having the twin stick IS pretty nice at times
I've never seen anyone gernade(personaly) a 13-56(or 208 for that matter) from simply too much power.. Now, overheated, to much mud in it, neglegence.. sure..
I HAVE seen a 205 gernade in a F-250 this summer..
Obviously a 205 is a tougher unit, but what I'm trying to say is, I wouldn't worry about breaking any of the above

I've only ever seen a NP241 (in a GM truck, but its alot like the NP208) break when the rear d-shaft bottomed out and split the case open. Their rated torque input is thousands of ft lbs above the 205. Just make sure you got slip joints and a skidplate, and you're good to go.

I'm interested in this also. Just happens to be what I have laying around also. Could we cut the planetary off the 1356 and mate it to the 208 somehow? Is anyone doing this? Seems like I saw a planetary used as the front half of a doubler on this list not long ago... off to search.

The only problem I had was breaking a 208 off of the tranny, But this was in my tuff-truck, taking 5-8 foot jumps.
i am very happy with my 203/205, it is only 4" longer than the stock 13-58 I had before.
