ok im doing a full width conversion to my zj and i was looking around on diffrent sites and found a picture on xjdb.com that caught my eye....

http://www.xjdb.com/albums/dana44/DSCN1966.jpg

this is how my dana 44 came (i know its upside down)...

notice that my dana 44 did not come with the hubs, i already have new warn dana 44 hubs but my question is what is my axle missing that will inhibit me installing the lock out hubs? it looks as though i dont ahve that middle piece that sits between the hub and the rotor but i am unsure and cant, at this time, put my hubs back together because i dont have my knuckles. so what am i missing if anything and if i am what do i need to buy, part numbers, prices? thanks for the help.

that is because the Dana44 in the pic is older than '78 (I believe). AFAIK, 78-79 used the normal 1/2 ton lockout

It doesn't appear that anything is missing, even though the pic is a bit blurry.

The external hubs, like the ones shown in the first pic, are the older design of the two.

Your D44 should use the internal design...you should be good.
