Any suggestions on starting up a vehicle that has been parked for 3 years. It was not prepped...just parked and covered.
The vehicle is a 96 ZJ, 4.0. 6 cylinder.

i would take out the plugs and shoot some oil down each of the cylinders, put a wrench on the balancer bolt and make sure it will turn (which will also work the oil into the cylinders). purge the carb and tank ( you may have to take it apart and clean it if the gas allowed to dry and gum up inside) put some fresh gas in it and see if it will run.

thats basically it. pull the plugs, shoot some wd40 or something in the cylinders to help em free up if they were stuck, put fresh fuel in it and battery, and give her a shot.

may also want to prime the oil system, but probly not necissary

Forgot to mention that it is a 4.0 fuel injected motor.
