Hey, name's Rivet. I'm a newb (duh.). I mean it. I'm in possession of a 1990 Bronco II with a 2.9l V6 with an A4LD (bad, replacements are scarce) and not much else. Right next to it in the yard is a 1990 Lincoln Town Car with a 302 with leaky main seals.

Can you guess what comes next? Riiiiiight. That 302 is gonna go into the BII. Can you blame me?

This is supposed to be the start of a series of upgrades taking this BII from funk stock to punk rock. Eventually, this thing will have a 6" suspension lift to go with the 2" body lift I have to put in to get the 302 and tranny to clear the body. She'll have a set of 35x12.50 meats, roll cage, reinforced frame ala rock crawlers, Danas front and back, et cetera, et cetera. You know how it goes, yeah?

The thing of it is, this is my first engine swap of this type. This will be the first hardcore offroad vehicle I've ever built. This, of course, will lead to other builds (I saw the 9" tandem thread and it's got me thinking...).

What I need to know is what exactly do I need to keep from the BII engine compartment et al regarding the turning of the new mill. What can I just toss or sell on eBay to help finance this little shenanigan? Right now, I've gotten the BII torn down as far as the bumper, fenders, trim, radiator and air box. I dare not go further until I know for certain what else I can just heave into the heap, dig?

I've tried theRangerStation and various like sites around the net, but no one lists what specifics. Can someone help?

Did you try to search on these other Ranger sites??

If you had, you would have found numerous tech on these swaps. If you can't find it, then it isn't important, and you don't need to know. :flipoff2:

Nice. I hope you didn't hurt yourself. I think I mentioned that I did check those sites out. I'm not new to BB's and yes, I did search them.

Seems you know less than you think I don't need to know. Is that the best you can do? Flame a newb? Wow. Your parents must really wish they'd drowned you at birth, huh?

Well, I guess this didn't work out. I hope you guys aren't representative of what's on the trails. Might be a dead sport by the end of the decade.

So your idea of what cool is is preventing you from answering the question? Shit. And you say I'm the fag. Right.

Never said my shit doesn't stink. If I'd left out what I had to work with, you'd have issues with that as well. Am I right? If I left out what I was looking for, you'd have issues with that, right?

Where's the problem? Me? I don't see how. I tried to cover all my bases and you still have a problem with it. Fucking elitists you are. With a shitty attitude like that, it's small wonder you have an entire section devoted to land use issues. Having learned what you all have to teach, were I to see a Pirate4x4.com decal, I doubt I'd let the driver onto my land as well.

Check out ebay and www.jamesduff.com . They both have books that will give you the play by play for swapping a 302/351 into your ranger/b2.

Yes alot of people here are eletist's. Why you ask? Because this board was founded on people relaying their experiences when they tried something original. NOT on being a place to come ask the same question that has already been covered 1000 fawking times. If you want someone to hold your hand, you might as well pay someone to build your shit for you, if not then get your ass of the computer and try it.
