I searched with no results. Is there a drive line in the junk yard that will bolt up between a np205 and a 12 bolt rear that has a CV end? Of course it would need to be shortened.
I know if I was keeping my drive train Jeep, I could use the front shaft out of certain years of the Waggoneer.
Thanks,

You want a rear drive shaft that has a CV joint at the pinion yoke? If I under stand you correctly I would highly reccomend simply rotating the rear axle/rewelding spring pads. I am prolly missing something though.

A little background info
~When custom drive shafts are made, the CV is usually at the transfer case side, and a standard u-joint a the pinion. These shafts run between 200 and $250.
~Some Jeepers take the front drive line out of a waggoneer (that has CV) and put it in the rear of thier Jeeps (shortened). Costs about $45 for the shortening and whatever you pay for the shaft.
My question is, is there a GM drive shaft that you can do the same with, (it must have GM size yoke). That way I can shorten it and put it in the back of my CJ which will have a NP205 and 12 bolt rear. ARE THERE ANY GM DRIVELINES WITH CV JOINTS FROM THE FACTORY THAT i CAN GET FROM A JUNKYARD?? Or am I newbie pissing up a rope.
Thanks,
Shaggy

Look under the rear of the 74-79 Ford Full size broncos....They have what your looking for and they even had 205 X-cases also. If the u-joint is different they do sell conversion u-joints to make it work. Good luck

Thats the part I didnt understand, I tought you wanted a cv on the axle side which made no sense to me. Sorry for confusion. There is a cv joint on the front shaft of of my 85 K5, I do not know if it is the stock shaft though. Good luck.

look for a front cv shaft off a chev with a 203 or 205 that has the u-joint/strap type attachment instead of the flange type. i think pre 76 or 75 years are this way. should have 1310s all the way around- which will work on your 12 bolt as well.

Thats ok. BTW my axle is going to be rotated when I weld the springs 2" in to so it will line up with my rear spring hangers.

Well I might just get lucky then and get the drive shaft out of what ever I get my axles out of then. I lost my line on a 76' truck with a 205, 12 bolt and 44 front for $500. The only thing the truck didn't have was an engine. It even had a TH350 for me to put behind my Caprice 350ci, (to rid of the 2wd TH350). Oh well another will come along.
Thanks for all the help.
