Had my EB stored in my side yard for about a year. Had to move it to gain access to the backyard. Got it started pretty easy and was running relatively smooth, but would die as soon as I put it in gear. I bumped it enough to get it to roll downhill to the street, but I will need it to run to get it back up to the sideyard. 302, C4, D20.
I haven't goofed with it much yet, thought someone may have an idea that would save me some time. Thanks!

Remember, you got old gas in that thing. It's not gonna like running on that. Also, did the tranny engage? Did you turn the motor before starting it? after sitting for a year, I'm sure all the oil in that thing was sitting nicely at the bottom of the oil pan.

yeah, new gas.... oiled the motor, etc. Seems to run fine until it is put in gear then shuts off.

Sounds like the choke is out of adjustment.

spray the outside of the carb and stuff with some WD or penetrating oil to loosin it up and see if that helps, when i got a new carb from a junk yard and had to rebuild it alot of it was sticking and causing my truck to stall at random times, also if its running good let it idle for 30 mins to let it warm up so the choke is not needed then give it a shot, or try starting it in nutral and putting it in reverse

Look for a loose vacuum line. Maybe the one off the power brakes (if you have them). The hose might just be cracked also, so don't assume.
Good luck.

You can't even keep it running while driving with two feet when it is in gear so you can get up the hill?

if it was parked for a year the carb is probaly gumed up i just put a carb on my brothers eb the carb sat on a shelf for a year we had a hell of a time getting it to run untill we got some carb cleaner directly into fuel bowl thru the bowl vents and worked the throttel pump and idle screws in and out you might even need a rebuild kit
