I have a 94 2500 with 60's front and rear with 3.55's. I have been thinking about going to 4.10's to get the RPM's up on the highway wheen pulling the trail rig.
Wondering if anyone has done a SRW 14b swap into a Dodge, and if you ran into any width, wheel, or driveshaft issues.
I can get a 14b with 4.10's cheap to free, and that would save me some $$ and time on regearing (at least in the rear.)
I'm 110% capable of installing gears, but if this is a near bolt-in deal I may as well swap u-bolts and u-joints :D

Looks like my rear shaft uses a 7290 joint, where the chevy 14b has a 1350 yoke...
I have looked for a little while and have not found a conversion joint for that

SRW d60 from a 1-ton looks to be 67" wide, with the perches 40.5" apart.
I will have to meause my 60 in the AM :D
Just adding some more tech if anyone actually searches in the future *lol*

Madd Ramm from pavementsucks hads put a 14 bolt in his Ram and also had the 14 bolt carrier machined to accept a tone ring from a Dodge dana 70. Older Rams jsut used the tone ring just for the ABS, but the newer Rams used it for the ABS and speedo

I swapped one in my 01 1500....I machined the carrier to accept a d70 tone ring and put the speed sensor through the housing, as far as u-joints I just had my driveshaft redone with 1350's

I have a 14 bolt in the rear of my 95, it did not need the tone ring, only on 97 and up rams is it a concern. The perches had to be moved and for the rear u-joint i ran a neapco 2-1153

not on pre 97's, pre 97 the tone ring in the rear axle is for ABS only. All of the rest of the readings come from the VSS in the transfercase. 97 is when dodge went to using the tone ring in the rear diff for the VSS

96 1500 with 14 bolt... no problems. had to move the spring pads 1" or 1 1/8", but i do not remember which way. the only thing eaiser would be putting the 14 bolt into a chevy.... call randies r and p. that is where i got my conc]version joint. it will be diffrent since mine was for a 1500 to 1350.
