This is admittedly a low-tech question. But the exhaust is rusted out behind the muffler, and I'll be piecing a new system together w/ clamps and little pipe sections. Has anyone found a decent sounding muffler for the aluminum v8's? I like the late 90's wagga, wagga, wagga sound of the trans am exhaust, but will have a hard time conveying that to the parts guy or summit catalog operator. It would be nice to find a muffler with a generic drillable flange.

just go to the local exhaust shop and have them weld in a magnaflow. I did this for my series with the mercruiser 140 engine and it really sounds good. my disco has a flowmaster adn that really sounds good as well, although at certain rpm there is a annoying tone so I just try not to stay at that rpm for extended times...
or just buy either muffler and weld in yourself....

I have always like Flowmasters, but have only ever used them behind Gm engines.
Oh wait, your engine is a GM design :D
