Okay...Finally got a line on a Hausfeld (sp?) bender...No hydro...Looked into a 1.75 die, and the lady on the other end of the phone was telling me that at 1.75 x .25 I'm NOT going to be able to bend it manually. Now, I'm thinkin' well maybe SHE can't bend it manually, and was figuring she want's to sell my a hydro attachment, but how hard is it really? I'm thinking that if I'm pulling really hard on a 6' cheater, how the heck am I going to get an accurate degree bend by myself? How do you all do it, and how much grunt really?

Biggest I have ever done with the hossfield, by hand, is 1.5 x .120. It wasn't to bad, but by the end of the day, you knew you were working. The 1.75 will be fun. On the hossfield we found that a little oil on the tube/die makes life much easier.

you're gonna need about a 10-foot bar on that one......
Even the MT3, or JD2 #3 benders use a "ratcheting" mechanism
for mechanical advantage...... go hydro.. build it yourself.

dayum .25 wall:eek:
what's that for? is it your frame? b/c that sounds mondo heavy for a cage. even for a frame that sounds beef! and I'm building my own out of .188 wall recto tube. I guess i could see it beeing needed for skid plating, but otherwise you should simmer down to .120 or 188. just use more thinnner tube versus thick. that's my .02

I'm gonna' use it for my lower control arms, and maybe my coil-over mount tubes...So really the biggest bend I'll need to make is a 90. The rest of the tube work (cage, supports etc.) will be outa' .120...What's everyone running for their coil-over mounts?

The stock handle I would guess 5'-6'. And the Hossfield doesn't have the ratchet setup.
