yup- it's time!

I hate the stock Toyota buckets, gonna upgrade seats, and found out that the pick n' pull's want as much for good, used newer 4 'runner seats (1998 or newer) as the racing seats.

what's your pick?

Mastercraft looks to be better built, but Beard fits me better.

find one of each and put your butt in them, see what feels the best...that's what I did and ended up with the Beard Super Seats...

same here, put my butt in a corbeau, mastercraft and beard....but i bought RCI plastic seats, i didn't find them to be too uncomfortable and i love washing the interior out with a hose. All 3 of those high end seats are well made and comfy, it's basically a toss up.

they are pretty much the same seat. idenical construction. i have the beard street seat because the sides are lower and easyer to get in and out of. also note that allpro now has mastercrafts that are a direct bolt in for toyotas.

why buy racing seats and bolt em to the body? If you are gonna go through the effort and $$ atleast tie it to the cage

I have stock 87 SR5 buckets and love um. The other toyota , non SR5, buckets SUCK. Look in Hot VW mag. I think I saw some Beard seats in an ad for a good price.

I love my beard seats. I have them in my toy and my sand rail.
The seats for my toyota took some time to get. They are tan to match my interior. And on a hot day they aren't uncomfortable to get into.
I have been running the same seats since 95 and up until last year my toyota was my everyday ride (the seats have alot of miles on them). No fading or cracking like a poly seat.

I have the Mastercrafts, and I purchased them through All-Pro. They are very nice seats, but they DO NOT directly bolt into a 3rd generation toyota pickup, unless All-Pro sells some kind of bracket that they did not tell me about. At this time I am biulding some brackets out of 1.5x1.5 tubing to mount the seats to.

ok let me rephraze that. they build a bracket that makes it a bolt in deal :D

D@mn it, now someone tells me. :( Would you have any idea if this bracket they sell has a slider built into it. Thats my biggest problem with the brackets I'm building right now. Since it is solid I can't adjust my seats after they're in.

BTW, if Beard and Mastercraft are so similar, would any one know if the mounting kit Beard sells will work with a Mastercraft seat?

I hate corbeau. Their customer service was the worst i have ever experienced. I had a set of seats and they rotted in a single year. Granted they were cloth but i did have a sof top and every thing. Well they did nothing for me no warrantee no dicount on another pair nothing i was really disapointed with them. Like it has been stated beard and mastercraft feel the same to me.

no i don't know if the bracket incorprates the slider but that would be sweet.

I did the Corbeau Baja Ultra SS in my CJ7. It's a little wider for those of us that can't put the beer bottle down.  Comfortable too. Actually a 5 gallon bucket would have been more comfortable than the seats that were in my rig before I got these! :barf:

I bought the Corbeau Baja SS seats at Verdone Upholstery in Scottsdale. They were $150 each in cloth center/vinyl sides.

Verdone does lots of custom high $$ rail interiors and stuff. They can also reupholster in custom colors and fabrics, depending on what you want.

My Corbeau Baja SS's are splitting at the seams and geneally falling apart after less than a year of use. I will replace them with Mastercrafts.

I've always had a preference for Corbeaus my self, even became a dealer for em :)
I've heard some complaints about some of the older seats, mainly the cloth was too thin, but it's supposed to be thicker now. (email or PM me any probs you've had and I'll follow up on it, probably won't be able to do much for you now, but can at least make sure the correct person knows about the problems)

Most of the seats out there are going to be very close in fit and feel, the main differences are going to be price and styling. All of them should also have the option of sliding rails to mount them into your vehicle. If your looking for Baja style seats, I don't think you can beat the Corbeau Baja SS, their split back seats are very nice too - but if your looking for absolute cheapest, go for the RCI or such.

I would have to say beard.
I love mine, they fit great. Although I never sat in master craft seats, but my beards are sweet.

here's there quote for STOCK SEATS-

Yes, we have your part(s).

The price is: $950 for a pair of nice bucket seats!!

Your Quote # is: 347860

All parts come with a standard unlimited mileage, 6-month warranty. Unless
otherwise stated.

think I'll get the Beard seats- they are about $125.00 cheaper and I've got a local distributor in town- plus they make the proper mounts for a 'Yota-

you saying your going to pay $412 ([950-125]/2) per seat for Beards??? that sounds awfully high! I think we all thought you were going for the cheaper seats like the mastercraft Rubicon (nice suspension seat) or Corbou Baja SS. If you want to spend that much why not get some Recaro's

sorry, that was confusing- :rasta:

the Beard Street seats with +2 width, +3 tall are about $200.0

the MasterCraft are about $325.00 for a similar seat-

in either case, the good seats are a BUNCH cheaper!

Holy Shiot  $950. I got my SR5 buckets ( both ) and the SR5 rear seat, from the same 4runner, with the tracks for $80. They were alittle dirty from still being in the runner out in the junk yard but they cleaned up great. Plus there were no rips or holes in any of them.

OK that sounds reasonable, expecially the custom beard, though I think the mastercraft is more of a real suspension seat.

Just a follow up on what me and Camo where talking about. I called up All-Pro out of curiosity, and they have decided not to build the brackets for toyotas.

As to the Fat @ss question, my Mastercrafts are just about perfect for me. I'm guessing I'm around 6 foot 3 inches and weigh about 230, so I know I qualify as a Fat @ss. I really don't see a need for the seats to be any taller. As for the width, a little more wouldn't hurt, but I like the way my seats hold me in.

I like the Beard seats and I noticed the other day they will even custom make rear bench type seats to what ever width you need
