I have a 72 with a hd travelall front end. When I put the 44 in I also took the liberty of putting in the power steering. Its been about 3 months and the powersteering is :nuke: I have herd that rebuilding the pump and such is horrible and its easyer to get a rebuilt one. Its mounted on the outside which has also raised the question (should I put a re-enforce the frame around the box?) I have herd that when lifting and adding larger tires the box tends to rip from the frame like the chevys. Its already lifted with 3 inch body and 2 inch add a leaves w/33x12.50. I plan to add a four inch suspension lift and I am timid to throw on 36's and go rompin. Any help would well...help

Hey didn't I wheel with you up at Iron Mtn back a few weeks ago? About a quart of PS fluid every mile?
If it's just the pump, then head to pic and pull, or any auto parts store for a remaned pump, cheap and easy. If it's the PS box, yes the rebuild can be complicated, depending on if you are rebuilding the entire box, or just a few a seals. I'll take a guess that you don't have a shop manual? Give me a bit and I'll find the link to the rebuild info on the web.
Couple of options on the box, you can add a plate to the frame, you can also add a steer straight, both will help anchor the box firmly to the frame. Big tires and lockers will stress the box, not so much lift, the lift will give you a nice case of bump steer.
BTW, welcome :flipoff2: newbie

I have not rebuilt a PS pump but I've put new seals in one to stop it from leaking. That was totally easy and cheap too. You can buy the seal kit from most auto chain stores.
