Freshman 03-12-2002, 03:48 PM I have seen alot of crusiers with a leaky gas cap on side hills, including mine. Does anybody have a good looking fix for this problem. I was thinking a different filler neck but I want a good looking gas cap if I do that.:roxy: SpaceGhost 03-12-2002, 05:06 PM On my 68 there is a small hole just below the cap on the bottom side (from memory). A vent I presume, yours should be the same. You need a vent to prevent a vacuum in the tank, which will stop it cold. My current solution is to avoid the urge to fill up before wheeling. If you plugged this, you would need a vented cap, which would leak also in the same position. Blucruz 03-12-2002, 05:09 PM Is it just the cap leaking or is the rubber part of the neck leaking? If it's just the cap go to kragen or pep boys and buy a replacement cap and paint to match your rig. My rubber piece cracked on me a few years back and I just replaced that with part of an old radiator hose that had a 90* bend in it. | |
